The authors utilise low pressure He atmosphere to enable the analysis of C in Jasper, with minimal damage to the samples. While an ANDOR Mechelle is used for the spectra work, they switch to a McPherson Czerny-Turner spectrograph for the calibration curve development. Results show that 2.6kPa He gives significantly stronger C peaks than 0.5kPa Air (8-10x). Calibration curves were prepared using Pellets of KBr and CaCO3
