In this paper 'remote LIBS' is where the laser is delivered to the sample via optical fibre, with the spectra returned via a separate optical fibre. Gate delay 1-5us, with gate widths lasting the length of the intense plasma emission (6-10us). While Steel is the analysis material, the purpose of this paper was primarily to demonstrate the remote LBIS technique.
