Specially constructed Pd impregnated Alumina beads were analysed to investigate the capability of LIBS for element concentration mapping. EPMA was used to provide reference concentrations for quantitative analysis. A top hat profile for the laser beam was created to enable more accurate determination of analysed portion of the sample. Microscope level focussing allowed LIBS with pulse energy < 1mJ. |
