In this paper geological/mine core samples are analysed with both LIBS and Energy Dispersive XRF. These results are calibrated using data obtained from Wavelength Dispersive XRF analysis of sub-samples taken from the core. Univariate and PLS methods are tried for this calibration, but PLS gave significantly better results (for both LIBS and EDXRF). The results were tested using half the samples for PLS calibration, then the other half as test/comparison samples. Results are good, but are dependent on the calibration against samples from the same core. |
