In this paper, heavy metal contaminants in plastic toys are measured. Measurements were performed Argon at 1litre/min. Doehlert experimental design (using peak areas for Ba, Cd, Cr and Pb as the criteria to maximise) was used to optimise number of laser pulses, integration time gate, delay time and laser energy. Worryingly, heavy metals were found in all the samples, and in paint on another toy.
