Oil samples for analysis were added dropwise until approximately 0.6g was spread over a filter paper (34mm diameter). This was then left for 15mins to dry before analysis. Results from single pulse (this reference) and double pulse [crossed beams] (http://www.libs-info.com/paper/49/) were compared. In general results on filter papers were lower than on jets or static liquids. Some elements did, however, suffer interferences from elements in the paper [Ca, Na, Mg, Ba].
