As the title suggests, the performance of 2 commercial Echelle spectrometer systems - ESA 3000 (link) and Mechelle 7500 (this paper) for use in LIBS. The low repetition rate was chosen as it reduced the presence of breakdown particles (from the previous shot) in the laser beam (leading to large shot-to-shot variations). |
Element | Detection Limit (ppm) | Wavelength (nm) | Other Wavelengths (nm) | Calibration Method | Calibration Range (ppm) | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Be | 0.4000 (Stated) | 313.0000 | N/A | Univariate Calibration | -10.0000--10.0000 | Be peak was normalised to Al at 305.1nm. The Al peak was chosen as it was "close" in the spectrum and did not show any self absorption. |
Mg | 5.5000 (Stated) | 285.2100 | N/A | Univariate Calibration | -10.0000--10.0000 | No peak processing described |
Si | 136.6000 (Stated) | 288.1600 | N/A | Univariate Calibration | -10.0000--10.0000 | No peak processing described |
Mn | 18.0000 (Stated) | 403.0000 | N/A | Univariate Calibration | -10.0000--10.0000 | Mn peak was normalised to Al at 305.1nm. The Al peak was chosen as it was "close" in the spectrum and did not show any self absorption. |
Cu | 30.4000 (Stated) | 324.7500 | N/A | Univariate Calibration | -10.0000--10.0000 | No peak processing described |
