As a prelude to online analysis, Potassium fertilizer samples are analysed using a laboratory rig. Russian, Belarusian and Israeli potash samples form the calibration/analysis sets. Calibration curves were constructed using the ratio of the intensity of key elements (Na, Mg, Ca) to intensity of K peaks. Results showed sufficient accuracy and precision for online analysis applications.
Element Detection Limit (ppm) Wavelength (nm) Other Wavelengths (nm) Calibration Method Calibration Range (ppm) Notes

Element RMSE (ppm) Wavelength (nm) Calibration Method Notes
Na 0.3000 % 819.4800 Univariate Calibration The 819.48nm line was chosen as it showed lower self-absorption at high Na concentrations than the 588.99nm peak
